'Empty Lessons'
One of those days when you're left a while waiting for your parents to turn up and collect you from school.
All is quiet.
save for the eerie flagpoles squeak.
The wind blows the autumn oranged leaves.
The clock tolls, the school does sleep.
The mechansims, the leavers, the cog heaves.
Then the soft grumble of the wind,
the seemingly distant traffic,
are all that roam the corridors awkwardly silent expances.
Until the morning.
When the children start their advances.
